September 2020 - Re-opening The Academy

Dear Parent/Student

We are really looking to seeing all of you back with us in September.  The Academy will feel different in some ways and these are a consequence of ensuring that the Academy follows the guidance laid out for us by the Department for Education.  The intention is that we offer a full school day and as broad a curriculum as the guidance allows.

To enable us to ensure that we can induct all staff and students into the new Covid-secure procedures at school we have increased the training days for staff at the start of the year and we will induct one or two year groups at a time. Once your son or daughter has had their induction day, they will attend every day thereafter. Please see the table below to see when your son or daughter will return to the Academy.

Thursday 3rd, Friday 4th and Monday 7th September

Staff training days

Tuesday 8th September

Year 7 and 11

Wednesday 9th September

Year 7, 8 and 11

Thursday 10th September

Friday 11th September

Please click on the links below for all the information you and your child need for a safe and secure return to school.  The details are different for each year group so, if you have children in more than one year group at Harris Academy Rainham, you will need to read the year specific guidelines for each child.

We are aware that some of our students have found working from home and having virtual lessons incredibly challenging. We have therefore prepared a range of resources and activies for each year group to help students to pepare for the new academic year.  These can be found at

and we would urge all our students to engage with these materials over the summer.

We look forward to welcoming you all back in September
