Our GCSE in Media Studies helps students develop a wider understanding and appreciation of the media, both historical and contemporary, and its role in society, culture and politics.
Students will study nine different media forms: radio, television, film, music videos, newspapers, advertising and marketing, magazines, video games and online/social media. They will gain an understanding into the production processes of theses nine media forms as well as analysing their media language.
The qualification enables students to develop their practical skills using, for example, Adobe Photoshop to help them approach professional standards in their work. Students apply their academic knowledge in the creation of their own media production.
